Description Has it been three years since we released the Ultra Black Vertex? Looking back over our records that seems to be the case. Which means it’s HIGH TIME for this amazing pen to make a reappearance. It’s not the flashiest fountain pen on the market, in fact, it’s meant to be understated. That doesn’t mean the Ultra Black Vertex isn’t meant to be a gamechanger. With it’s snap-cap design, unique grip to body transition, and extreme comfort; the Vertex has been one of our biggest design and manufacturing achievements. Not only that, but it’s one of the the only fully-machined, US-made fountain pens on the market with a price point of $100. If you haven’t picked up a fountain pen, this is the one to start with, and you can easily convert it to a rollerball version if you want. The Vertex is the second release in our Signature Series which is built around using plastics and other resins as the main parts of the pen. From the beginning, we wanted to create something that looked, felt and functioned differently than other pens on the market. We wanted a smooth transition from grip to barrel, so we moved the traditional breakpoint from the section back, and used a third o-ring in the cap adapted slip cap functionality for the pen. The longer grip section allows for the use of an “ink window” with transparent materials which adds a little flair to the pen. The Vertex looks and feels streamlined and aerodynamic. With soft tapers, a cigar-shaped body, and a concave cap top; the Vertex is at once futuristic but also reminiscent of the classic lines of Parker and Sheaffer pens. Select from a variety of anodized aluminum grip section options and our full complement of polished steel #6 nibs; the Vertex is the latest step in our Design.History.Technology influenced Signature Series. The Aluminum Vertex is machined from 6061-T Aluminum on our CNC Swiss Lathes in Mesa, Arizona. The #6 nibs units are manufactured by Peter Bock in Germany.
