Description “To unpathed waters, undreamed shores” – William Shakespeare We used this tagline for the third Decograph ever released back in 2017. We were barely out of the prototyping phase, with two small releases before the holidays were upon us. We’d been lucky enough to secure a batch of incredible looking acrylic that we thought looked like “a chilling shade of wintergreen, struck through with ribbons of black and streaks of glittery ice”. The entire process of designing and bringing the Decograph to production had been laborious and fraught with mistakes, wrong turns, and scrapped parts; by December 2017 we were able to breathe a sigh of relief as we released the Winter Decograph Special Edition 1703 “Winter’s Tale”. Fast forward, to a few days before Solstice 2025, we’re excited to release the Winter’s Tale Vertex, in the same chilling wintergreen color. It took 8 years but we finally found a near exact duplicate to the original material, of course in the hands of Turner’s Workshop. This premium European acrylic has the same light green color with brilliant silver-y, chatoyant swirls and ribbons of opaque black. If you want to complete the set of the two pens, now is the time. If you missed the original Decograph release, you can still grab a Vertex. The Vertex is the second release in our Signature Series which is built around using plastics and other resins as the main parts of the pen. From the beginning, we wanted to create something that looked, felt and functioned differently than other pens on the market. We wanted a smooth transition from grip to barrel, so we moved the traditional breakpoint from the section back, and used a third o-ring in the cap adapted slip cap functionality for the pen. The longer grip section allows for the use of an “ink window” with transparent materials which adds a little flair to the pen. The Vertex looks and feels streamlined and aerodynamic. With soft tapers, a cigar-shaped body, and a concave cap top; the Vertex is at once futuristic but also reminiscent of the classic lines of Parker and Sheaffer pens. Select from a variety of anodized aluminum grip section options and our full complement of polished steel #6 nibs; the Vertex is the latest step in our Design.History.Technology influenced Signature Series. The Vertex is machined from European acrylic on our CNC Swiss Lathes in Mesa, Arizona. The #6 nibs units are manufactured by Peter Bock in Germany. Also included with each pen are 2 black Monteverde ink cartridges. Each pen is designed and machined, by us, in the USA.
