It is set up as standard with the factory fitted strings but we offer the option here of upgrading with either D’addario Zyex Viola strings or Dominant Viola strings, both of which will make a marked difference to the sound quality. Instruments not properly set up can have a detrimental effect on the players progress, even leading to the player being put off for life. At Caswells we operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. This includes cutting the bridge and top nut, setting the soundpost, and lubricating the pegs. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up.
